No more shot blocking....enforced by the puck having a taser system in it...get hit by the puck ZAP instant power play.

I hope someone on the players side is a voice of reason but either side has avoided talking about ANY issues until the lockout. Worse than 3rd graders. Mexican standoffs are not entertaining. Nope, not at all. It's like both sides are shot blockers.

The mere notion to remove shot blocking from the game of hockey is in and of itself shear bafoonery. I mean, why not remove slap shots from the game while your at it...

I don't think it's that absurd, considering it wasn't always part of the game. At the very least, it's something to talk about. There's kind of a dearth of hockey conversation topics lately.

When the players hired Fehr is when my allegiance turned to the owners.....and I realize the owners are no angels. That guy cares about himself first and foremost and the players need to wise up and force that rat faced as*hat to make a deal. Everything Fehr has done has made me take the owners side. He acts like the NHL has an endless pot of gold like MLB. Facts are that ticket sales and concessions make up the bulk of the revenue and middle class people are at their limit with 10 dollar beers and 100+ dollar tickets.

The players would be wise to listen to Recchi.

How would you realistically eliminate shot blocking from the game? With people constantly in front of the net, battling for position it would be impossible. What if the puck just grazes someone? What if it was an "accident?" Why we are even discussing the idea is beyond me.

Why the (frank) do they need to take a two week moratorium on negotiating? To plan the NHL's funeral. They've barely (frank)ing talked since September in the first place. bumholes, the whole lotta them.

If I had to guess... this is a way for Betteman to say to the players "We're prepared to miss as many games as necessary"

Fehr is learning that the NHL owners are NOT the same animal as the MLB owners. Too bad the fans and other have to pay for Fehr's learning curve.

The players as a whole are losing more than the 10-15 owners who lost money last year and would likely lose more this year.

Players are bordering on the point of no return where they will never recover the money they lose from not playing.

Yea its getting bad. I get their frustration since they gave up so much last time (even though we see how well it turned out for them in the end). Point is, giving up a lot last time doesn't mean you should be precluded from giving anything up again. Especially when the revenues are still in their favor comparatively to the other (bigger) professional sports leagues.
